Darling Donkeys Pair Oh So Well with Oh So Ombre DSP | Kylie Bertucci's Blog Hop

Updated: Feb 9, 2021

I created this card to give to all my customers who purchase from me in February. If you want this card, make sure to make a purchase. And if you spend $50-150, make sure to use my Host Code and you will receive a free package of black matte dots from me.

I also entered this card into Kylie Bertucci's Demonstrator Blog Hop. I am so glad that you have visited this blog hop for ideas and creative inspiration. We are a group of demonstrators from around the world who have each created a unique card entry. You may be starting here or may have come from another blog - either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea. Click on any name to see their creation and enjoy lots of inspiration.

I adore the Darling Donkeys, especially when they are paired with the Oh So Ombre designer series paper. Both of these items are free with a $50+ order until the end of February. Check out Sale-a-Bration for more information.

You can't get any cuter than that! This card makes me so happy.

And it's a quick card. The Oh So Ombre paper makes it come together quickly, and the donkey just makes you smile.

To check out the other cards in the blog hop:

Ingredients: Darling Donkeys (free Sale-a-Bration set!) and Ornate Thanks stamp sets; Rectangle Stitched dies; tuxedo black ink; thick basic white, basic white, and blackberry bliss cardstocks; Oh So Ombre designer series paper; light and dark petal pink and crumb cake Stampin' Blends, and the color lifter; liquid glue, glue dots, and Stampin' dimensionals; pastel pearls; trimmer; paper snips; and Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine (Big Boss).

Directions: Cut a piece of thick basic white in half horizontally, score in half, and fold to create a regular card size of 5/5x4.25". Optional: I like to use my bone folder to get a better crease.

Cut one strip of each color of the Oh So Ombre dsp, repeating the rococo rose, each measuring 1x4". Using liquid glue and holding the card base horizontally, first glue the middle strip, then the two sides, placing them lightly. Glue the two middle strips. Make sure the strips are approximately even across and lined up on the top and the bottom. I alternated whether the lighter or darker part was on top, and alternated using some very light parts of the paper and some darker parts. When you are happy with the placement, firmly push in place to adhere.

Stamp the donkey and the sentiment in tuxedo black on basic white cardstock (you can change the sentiment if you prefer). Using the Big Boss, cut out the sentiment using the Rectangle Stitched dies, and cut one step larger out of blackberry bliss. Adhere these together using liquid glue. Add three pastel pearls. Stamp the donkey in tuxedo black on basic white, and color with the Stampin' Blends. Fussy cut out with the paper snips.

Adhere the sentiment to the middle of the card using Stampin' dimensionals. Place the donkey "sitting" on the sentiment, using two glue dots on the donkey's bottom and one Stampin' dimensional on the top. Angle him so his tail hangs down over the sentiment slightly.

That's it! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks for spending some time with me!
