It's Groovy, Man - Funky 70s Style Cards with Layering Circles Die and Quite Curvy Stamps
Hey, man, let's kick it way back to the 1970s with these funkadelic cards! I wondered what would happen if I layered two circles, and touched them in one spot only. The result reminded me of 70s style so I made these groovy cards. Check out my video here.
Aren't they so much fun? When you cut the circle out of the card on the left, you get the circles on the right - so you end up with two cards from one die cut.
Keeping with the 70's theme, I used cherry cobbler, old olive, pumpkin pie, and crushed curry cardstocks and cherry cobbler ink. The cards come together in minutes as seen in the video.
Ingredients: Quite Curvy stamp set; Layering Circles dies; white, cherry cobbler, pumpkin pie, old olive, and crushed curry cardstocks; cherry cobbler ink; pearl basics; dark cherry cobbler Stampin' Blend; liquid glue; Stampin' Dimensionals; trimmer; Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine.
Recipe: (Do two of the directions in this paragraph) Cut white cardstock in half horizontally, score in half again, and fold, creating a card base that is 5.5x4.25". Cut a piece of pumpkin pie cardstock to 5.25x4" and adhere with liquid glue to the card base. Cut a piece of white to 5x3.75" and adhere to the card base using liquid glue.
Using the smallest and third smallest circle dies, place them on crushed curry cardstock so that they are touching in one spot and run through the Big Boss at the same time. They will cut a funky circle and a regular circle at the same time.
Using the second and fourth smallest dies, place the dies the same way and cut out circles from both pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler cardstocks.
Using the third smallest and fifth smallest dies, place the dies the same way and cut out circles from old olive cardstock.
(Do two of this paragraph) Cut a piece of white 5x2" and a piece of cherry cobbler 5.25x2.25". Stamp the sentiment on the white with cherry cobbler ink. Adhere to the cherry cobbler with liquid glue. Color a pearl with dark cherry cobbler Stampin' Blends and place on the sentiment piece.
Adhere the funky circles to one card base, and the regular circles to another. On the regular circles card, cut an extra circle in cherry cobbler using the smallest die, and an extra circle in crushed curry using the smallest die. Cut a quarter off and adhere the quarter in the corners with liquid glue.
Adhere the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals, making sure all circles poke out the top and bottom.
Easy peasy! And so groovy. If you are a cool cat, let me know the 411 on this card. If you try it please tag me so that I can see it. Thanks for spending some time with me!
